Greetings.
I want to take this opportunity to introduce you to this new effort taken up by a group of people badly hit by the immigration delays or we can say immigration black out in U.S..
http://www.immigrationvoice.org is a banner under which we are getting together to
1) Find solution to employment based greed card retrogression
2) Labor delay in the backlog centers.
All the members of this non-profit organization are facing severe problems due to these issues. We have started the awareness drive and professional strategic help (lobbying) efforts have started for the new Comprehensive immigration reform bill due on the floor of the Senate and House in Spring of-06. To make a difference and to have the new law passed in the way the current visa retrogression & Backlog center delays cane be addresssed with the new bill, I would request you to please spread this message or forward the email to as many people as possible.
Attached file contain the flyer. This flyer is to create awareness for this effort and add to the ongoing membership drive for http://www.immigrationvoice.org to find solution to Green Card Retrogression problem as well as the backlog centers. We are actively starting to work with the lawmakers to make appropriate changes in Comprehensive Immigration Reform Bill.
I would urge you to please go ahead and post these flyers at Chinese/Pilipino/Indian stores/religious places or anywhere you now think individuals supporting our cause will gather. I was very disappointed at infopass five months ago for 140. The person did not even know the difference between EB2 and EB3. So, I am reluctant to waste any further time. My job keeps me traveling out of town 3 days a week.
Fingerprinting for my EAD was in June08, spouse and daughter in Sep07. Is there a separate Biometrics required for 485? How do I find out about NC clearance? Thanks for your help.

You mean to say sell US real estate for GC/citizenship? I don't see this going very far. I can see anti immigrants waiting for this one. Best is to lobby using aides of big corporations, developing relationship with lobbyists who already have connections, hiring lawyers, developing strong case, donations in election campaigns etc. All of this needs loads and loads of money. Are we ready to donate to IV and build strong lobbying group for our cause? That is the only way to change our current situation.

You can apply for the PIO card only if your child has a US passport. In the past the rules used to be different, I have a friend his first child has a OCI card, he had to settle for a PIO card for the second child. Again I would strongly suggest to you to apply in person for the PIO card if any of the consulates are in accessible distance for you, good news is that they are open on US holidays. I was able to obtain the PIO card at home within a week for my child after applying in person.

The only positive thing I can take from this visa bulletin (assuming there is even a modicum of linear thought possible on the movement of dates) is that the 485 traffic for PDs between 2002 July and Jan 2003 is fairly light for EB2 India. After all they stated as much in their footnotes about anticipated movement of PDs. This can be construed as offering some hope for those from EB2 India with priority dates in early 2003 (say up to march). After all anyone in their right mind would not chance CP now with the fluidity of priority dates and the pending BEC deluge of cases, and the hordes of people hunting labour subs. etc. Basically if anyone gets the chance to file 485 they will do it lest the dates retrogress again while they are waiting for the consular interview.
So those with early 2003 dates can be hopeful now, later than march and I doubt you will be in this fiscal years quota.

This will definitely lead to a lot of noise and I am quite sure the remaining 50K visas left for recapture for yrs 2002-2004 will also be recaptured soon after the elections. I hope for the SKIL provisions but am less confident about them than I am about the Schedule A workers.

Great Chance! I am not sure how much of time we will be given. I agree that communication skills are of tantamount importance to the substance that we plan on putting forth. How about folks who have done our presentation earlier? We need statistics/numbers and our presentation material bears that or, we could garner more. I do not believe in short-changing any of the objectives. Priority may change but all provisions are core. As a case study then, we let an individual to present himself. That way the whole presentation is broad-based and goes as planned.
Also, please factor in that this could well turn out to be an interactive session later. (Some may be out to shoot us ;) )With the amount of superlative material already flowing across the forum and the drive within us, we are definitely upto it! Please plan on carrying a slide that lists prominent immigrants who are success stories (Kalpana Chawla !).
Is there a way we could get to see how many of us folks hold an Advanced degree? Any IITians around for the show? Let's conference around and get to the nitty-gritty details, dress code, way of formal addressing, hand-outs et al., and run the rehearsal (s) by QGA.

WithoutGCAmigo, no panic. there are processing dates which you should be worried about after you file EAD / AP etc.
To file it goes per visa bulletin. Hope you are upto date with that.

The reason the processing dates matter is because by the time USCIS gets to process our I765 and I131 the dates would have retrogressed and then what happens is a million dollar ?

If u guys are staying in an apt make sure u have both urs and ur wifes names on the letter box, since the EAD comes with a return service requested seal on it, if ur wifes name does not show up on the letter box there are chances that it would be returned to USCIS. this happened to me.

My AP status say pending since 10/04/2007, I got my AP documents from attorney this afternoon.Still the status says pending.

I will be on EAD for the new job..and the LOA is vacation without pay. My salary is already 30% more than the one mentioned in labor but no promotions..new job has actually lower salary and job description similar.
If i do ger rfe for evl with me in new job then I hope salary doesnot become an issue

2. Take it and go for infopass.
3. Insist that they follow the procedures outlined in the memo. Do not leave until they do what they have to do according to the memo. They have to provide you a receipt that they followed the procedures.
4. Get your EAD within a week or so after infopass.
Thank a ton for the help, Can you please tell in more detail what i need to do/say there? I have heard that people are being turned back pretty rudely at local offices. Also do i need to fill any forms before i go there?
