    i got my 'decision' email on 10th. But after that nothing. No CPO email/No welcome email/ No LUD.
    I am hoping that they didn't let my case 'drop through cracks'. Considering USCIS's way of working I wouldn't be surprised. Will give a week or two more.

    You got it right.

    They have thier own of operation. My CPO status was registered on Aug 5th. I got CPO email the next day. Then on August 12 it went back to post decision activity. I got the approval or welcome mail (snail) on August 12th itself. After that there is not change or update. All we can do is to sit back and wait for little bit more.

    Great job.. Thanks.:)

    Hi all,

    Thanks so much for all of you who emailed and called to share your stories
    with me. I tried to get as many of your voices in as possible, but length
    restraints reigned, so I apologize to those that I had left out. Please
    forward this email to anyone you know that may have talked to me, but
    didn't leave me their email.

    A quote that did not end up in the article, but I think you should know.

    Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren, the chairwoman of the House subcommittee on
    immigration:
    "I have a lot of sympathy. I dont know their names, but maybe I'll see
    them at our hearing. To wait as long as these people have is difficult. A
    lot of work and money has been put into the process. This is a cruel joke.
    [To those who have been affected,] I am sorry that our bureaucracy has
    dealt with you in such an incompetent manner and I hope to make it better."

    here's the link in case anyone is looking for it.

    From the Washington Post article, this was an interesting comment:

    "We know the reason behind it and understand the symbolism. We donated them in the same spirit in which they were provided to us," said an agency official who spoke on condition of anonymity because of a lawsuit over the matter filed by an advocacy group.

    I think you have wrong info... Last year, EB2 I&C did receive spill over from EB2 ROW, EB1 (~3K), EB5.. Also from reading other posts it is my understanding that in fact there was NO spill over from Family Based.

    I could be wrong though!!

    May be I am wrong. I want to be wrong since I would like to File for I 485 , but this is from DOS site, can you share your source ?

    http://www.travel.state.gov/pdf/FY10AnnualReport-TableV.pdf

    Table V (Part 2)

    You will see total at the bottom of this page.

    E1 = 41,026
    E2 = 53,872
    E3 = 42,431
    E4 = 11,048
    E5 = 1,885 [Table V (Part 3)]

    If allocation for 2010 was like below then EB1 gave us 1 k ,

    E1 = 42.5
    E2 = 42.5
    E3 = 42.5
    E4 = 11.5
    E5 = 11

    Then Eb1 gave only 1k. E2 ROW didn't give any. Eb2 India / China got from Eb1 and EB2 row is because of overflow from family based.

    We are lacking those number this year. I would say if we didn't have those 10k family visas spill over would be only 10k for 2010.

    Hello rajsat,

    By September 28 all the Visas are exhausted(2009 Quota). Please see the thread "September Visa Approvals". Infact some one was saying USCIS stopped issuing GC for the last week as they have used all visas. That may be the case they would have withdrawn approved GC

    But try all the possibilities like SR, Infopass, Congressman, etc and let the local office be aware of Oct Visa bulletin and now are current and visas are available.

    Best of luck

    Thank You! I think I need all the luck in the world.

    I dont think you need police clearance for US immigration. do you? I think that's canadian immigration where you need police clearance.
    You only need a police clearance record for consular processing.

    LOU DOBBS TONIGHT

    http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIP...28/ldt.01.html

    I have posted sections from his trascript .......

    "Counterattack: President Bush's Veto Threat; Showdown Over Iraq; Danger Zone? Aired March 28, 2007 - 18:00 ET"

    DOBBS: Your view is -- well, let me just ask you this. If we could put up a slide here, because this is something most people don't talk about, gentlemen, I would just like to hear your view.

    We bring in 2 million people a year into this country legally, and I would like if we could have that information up on the screen so our audience at home could see it.

    BILBRAY: More than the rest of the world combined.

    DOBBS: It's pretty remarkable. Two million people legally admitted to the United States each year. Four hundred thousand H1 visas each year. Nine hundred thousand other employment visas each year. Six hundred thousand student visas issued each year. Four hundred fifty-five thousand temporary employment transfers granted.
    In addition, over 700,000 legal citizens. In addition, a million permanent residents. My gosh, what in the world are you folks talking about?

    FLAKE: I say thank goodness we do.

    DOBBS: You and me both -- let me say when you say thank goodness we, do, partner, I am just as excited about legal immigration. I'm more excited, I think, probably because it puts the lie to the nonsense of the president of the United States is saying that we cannot operate in this country without a guest worker program. We have tons of guest worker programs. What in the world are we doing?

    FLAKE: Well, when you have nearly five percent of the current work force here is illegal and our economy is doing well with that five percent working, what are we going to do? Are you going to deport five percent of the work force? If you are -- but if you can see we need them, then we need more legal immigration. BILBRAY: Lou, stop paying them to be here. You don't need to deport them. We didn't ship them in. It took 30 years of encouraging people to pay people to be here illegally. Stop paying them. Quit giving them benefits for being here illegally.

    DOBBS: Do you think your legislation is going to succeed?

    FLAKE: I do. I do. I think it's finally time. We - in Arizona, let me tell you, we need it desperately in Arizona.

    DOBBS: Well, it's always good to have a forecast. We'll see how the rain falls.

    All right. Thank you very much, Congressman Flake for being here. Good to talk to you.

    Congressman Bilbray, good to talk with you.

    BILBRAY: You keep up the good work.

    DOBBS: You too. Thank you.

    And up next at the top of the hour, THE SITUATION ROOM and Wolf Blitzer. Wolf.

    (COMMERCIAL BREAK)

    DOBBS: The results of our poll, 94 percent of you say Congress should retain its constitutional power and prerogative in trade policy.

    Thanks for being with us tonight. THE SITUATION ROOM starts right now with Wolf Blitzer. Join us at 8:00. Wolf, to you.

    stole this from an other DB:

    If you are travelling on AP and dont want the hassle of transit visas, the following airports are AP "friendly" ....
    1) Frankfurt (Air-India or Lufthansa).
    2) Amsterdam (KLM, Northwest, United)
    3) Dubai/Sharjah/Kuwait (Emirates, Kuwait Air)
    4) All Pacific stopovers - Tokyo, Seoul, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore (China Air, JAL, Korean Air, Malaysian Airlines, Singapore Airlines)

    Thumbrule : Via the Atlantic route (Europe stopover) you must avoid London, Paris, Geneva (other Swiss airports are fine). Via the Pacific route, you are fine with any airport/airline.

    In my case, I used Air-India from Chicago to Mumbai via Frankfurt (twice in 2005). No transit visa issues and great food - hot samosas soon after takeoff from Chicago !

    Hope this helps .....

    Ok. I am finally beginning to see your point. If the objective of your exercise is to eliminate alleged non-genuine EB2 jobs, that really don't exist, but are simply advertised just for the sake of porting by unscrupulous companies who stand to gain money by this, then you certainly are making a valid point.

    But I still do not understand how a lawsuit will help? Was the labor-sub elimination the result of a lawsuit? Also, I would be concerned about lots of other valid/genuine companies who really have jobs for BS + 5 years experience ...?

    The argument is same for why labor substitution was done away with. The bottom line is it was abused.

    Sorry to find about your difficulty. I had worst experience of my life at Bombay airport.

    not getting the right salary is not these scumbags problem. You pay them 200 thousand a month, they still steel money from passengers. Corruption is in their entire body. Not easy to cleanse them. New generation workers are a little better.

    Interesting to read all these experiences.

    Let me share mine in Mumbai, although it was a couple of years ago.
    I was born in India but have a foreign passport. When you are leaving the country they have an officer interview you. I am not sure why, but it is quite unusual, kind of like an exit interview I guess. I have not seen that anywhere else.

    Anyway the guy asked all sorts of detailed questions, and then finally asked me how much Rupees cash I have with me. I told him I'm not exactly sure, but about 1000Rs(about 20 dollars at that time). He told me the limit was 800Rs for foreigners leaving India and told me it was illegal to take Indian Rupees out of the country and asked me to take out my wallet and count it, when I counted it, it turned out I had 1400 Rs in my wallet. Then he became quite irate and condescending and asked me what I do for a living, I told him I am a doctor, then he went on insulting me, asking whether I would say that a patients temperature was 104 if it was 101! I told him that is not relevant here. He got angrier and told me he will have to confiscate that money. I told him 1400 Rs is not that much money and I could spend it in the departure lounge before I left. He was livid. He asked me to hand over the Indian currency. I was not quite sure what to do, but I sure as hell knew I did not want this scumbag to have that money. So I turned around and gave the balance above 800Rs to another passenger in line next to me and said take it as a gift from a stranger. That pushed him over the edge, he started yelling in Hindi. I told him I do not speak Hindi, that seemed to upset him even more. By this time other passengers were aware of what was going on as well and were objecting as well. He was fuming and walked away from his desk yelling and shouting in Hindi and his supervisor came to take over. He asked what the issue was and I explained it to him. He waved me by and moved on to the next passenger.

    Later that passenger, came up to me in the departure lounge and returned the money I gave her. We started chatting, and I asked her to join me in the restaurant as our flight was 3 hrs away so we went to the restaurant and spent it all in the departure lounge on a meal and a couple of drinks and the tip.

    They need to improve things and get rid of these morons in those airports. Perhaps they need to pay them realistic salaries and then make them more accountable. They don't realize it and perhaps care even less, but they represent India's image and brand every day in the eyes of visitors and travellers alike.

    WEDNESDAY - Suspended I-140 PPS anticipating huge demand from people
    for whom the visa numbers would be available - FACT!!
    FRIDAY - Allowed doctors from "any area" - FACT!!

    MONDAY - We won't accept any applications?????? ----RUMOUR

    they don't add up

    I was thinking on the same line. Why to wait at the last moment and that too when today they allowed the medical examinations to be done outside the local area. I guess, time to chill out, have some beer (i'm already having) and worry on monday. We anyway can't do anything about it on sat-sun.

    worst case

    I might be the worst case so far in PIMS verification delay. I attended the interview on Dec 17th at Chennai and still have not received my passport. They asked to send the original I-797 on Jan 03. I sent it on Jan 04 and after that there is no response. It is very very aggravating.
