1. Were n't you concerned with the security of this country. Have one more Id in your wallet. How does it matter? You are ready to do whatever this country asks you just because you are a non-immigrant.
2. Again I don't get your reasoning. How does immigration status verification ensure the security of this country ? Come up with some logical points.
Do you know that there are citizens from terror breeding countries roaming around in this country as citizens ( because they are not subject to country quota), whereas people from democratic countries like India being subject to all kinds of discrimination just because we are non-immigrants ( indirectly because we are subject to country cap) ?
It took a Martin Luther King to liberate blacks from slavery.
It took Mahatma Gandhi to get Independence for millions of Indians.
I am not assuming all individuals will have the same level of dignity and self respect. If you lack enough self respect, you will probably say US can ask us to wear a chain around our neck just because we are non-immigrants.

I think we need an IV movement to fix the Indian Consulates - They are absolutely pathetic - Lets get our house in order before we try to fix the USCIS !!! Does anybody know what is the email address for Meera Shankar - Indian Ambassador to US. We need to bombard her with emails about how badly the Indian consulates in the US are run.

I think we should dedicate one day on leaving messages at his show. Lets make it a saturday/sunday. All the members can leave messages, asking him to be fair.
I know a lot of ppl will come back saying its of no use blah blah............
whole idea is to try. If ppl only get motivated by results, then there is no point trying at all...........
My experience is sending messages to the person whom we are going to target won't help. We need to counter attack using a different and equally powerful channel. The negative comments we post on Lou Dobbs and CNN are never posted or maybe never read to the end.

You're right, the point I was making is the real intention of these Senators...When you want to scr.ew somebody you ask questions that are hard and mostly unanswerable....Take this example, Look at the requirement that Hyderabad Consulate has put up for H1B Visa Stamping, it sounds like they are saying don't you dare!!!
Such an escalated tone has been established due to various reasons, based on the fact that there is documented evidence of some abuse. It is not to scare every h1b visa holder.
See - people are writing so many posts their their friend is having trouble in h1b , friends friend is having trouble in POE etc... but none of them are original posts. Just look around yourself and your friends - check to see if anyone really got screwed (genuine folks) - there may be some people who got additional grilling and that's it.
People are still traveling everyday and getting stamping and no issues at POE.
Like I said earlier "unless you set the ass on fire those who abuse will not straighten themselves" - greed overtakes any good forward thought.
Senators are not your own country senators and we cannot influence their thoughts or feel bad about what they think about h1b visa. All we do is make a case for ourselves that we are genuine and really interested in following the system.
AFAIK every h1b and GC case has been dealt with on a case to case basis and people who have really followed rules did not have much issues - we continue to follow the system because we believe in it.

We can get a employment verification letter. But now a days you need employment verification letter for many things. Just recently, jan 2009, I carried EVL for visa stamping. Now, my DL is expiring, should I ask them again for EVL. It has become more like HR nightmare for having a non-immigrants in the copany. These taylor made rules are not appropriate. When driving is a basic necassity, I could not comprahend why they need all additional documents. Any ways if this is true I have to ask my HR again to provide me one. Hope they do not get mad at me.

Sorry to hear the screw up. I had some what similar issue with H1B extension when attorney didn't timely file my application. USCIS approved H1B with no I-94 attached basically asking to leave country and get stamping in India.
We then contacted Murthy firm who filed 'nunc-pro-tunk' petition saying it was a mistake by employer/attorney and I shouldn't be penalized. USCIS then issued new approval with I-94.
I am not sure if this works for 485 but a competent attorney should be able to give a conclusive answer. Since you have the document you should try this and also change the attorney at the same time. You can also get a statement from old attorney about his mistake.

You did not list any +ve comments. Maybe you did not see them. Now you can continue to harp and complain about the -ve around you, or you can have a +ve approach and look at things that are good, maybe the comments there are commending and admiring you. Its your choice. Instead of asking others to change something, did you look at the mirror when you got up in the morning. Maybe a change is required in that guy you saw in the mirror.
Stop complaining that the boys are picking on you. Behave like a grown up and don't act as if you are melting because of crticism or -ve comments.
Hope this is the last complain about red/green dots.

Maybe she can apply for F-1 visa first, then get married...Let her come to US on F-1 and then get married here in local county...But it's tedious and lengthy process though, apart from the heartburn ur gonna give to many back home by postponing ur already fixed marriage...

2. Understood there is only one bread earner, well you do pay 1000s of $ to fill stupid forms to lawyers. A fraction of that amount will produce bigger bang here at IV.
3. Some people here in IV are out of the job but still continuing on their mission. Unfortunately, cowards like you will also be benefited by their efforts.
4. If you really wanted to help, u could have started by joining the state chapter.

When I joined this forum it was to look advice on my case and to offer help when I could. No one has ever taken the time to explain what the objectives of the Core are. What I see alot of are #1 asking people to contribute and #2 members complaining about people asking their questions in the wrong area or opening too many threads. Someone needs to explain fully what Core is doing and list ways for the members to help. I would love to help if I can. Unfortunately I don't have a lot to offer financially being that my husband and I are living off one income. I wish I could go to the rally but I cant afford to do that either. There must be some way that I can help- stuffing envelopes or something- anything. But what I would love to see is an explanation of what it is the Core is trying to accomplish and a set of guidelines for posting if possible because I am so sick and tired of seeing "please close this thread"

Mine was filed in NSC on July 24th, I140/485 only got transfered to TSC on Sept 14th, Got EAD from CSC on Sept 21, AP from CSC on Sept 25, FP notice on Sept 29th for october 16th.

Can you call up the customer service to know your status as to whether you are pre-adjudicated or not?
As per this everyone who got pre-adjudicated would be receiving their GC in FY2010. But, there are people from EB3I with PD as late as 2007 who got RFEs recently and got their cases pre-adjudicated( I am one of them even though my PD is March 2003 and when I called up NSC, they said my case was pre-adjudicated and waiting for a Visa number ).
With EB3I staying at 1 Nov 2001 when the new FY2010 quota starts in October doesnt match to what Ron Gotcher says.
Anyone have any opinion?
