feels like the last day of the annual exam at school. All the hard work for the whole year..going through a lot and finally writing exams..You just want to get over that "last day" of the academic year. ...But hey..we all went through it and went past that day....Our such day is around the corner and we can hardly wait ....

They will seek more time and need to take their lawyers advice before responding.
The letter was drafted on the 9th - so a response is due today. He may take his time to respond to Congress Woman letter by saying there are more pressing matter's on hand that, he has to deal with, including the word "gut feeling"

Is this NORMAL or should i be worried.

...I think a great deal depends on the person at the counter at InfoPass, or the one on the phone in case of NCSC.
I took infopass this Monday at the local Chicago office. The guy basically said he cannot do anything...also said they cannot do anything even if I don't receive the card after 90 days. I then had an SR filed yesterday afternoon by calling NCSC...in this case the guy was nice and he even included my wife's EAD app info on the SR.
EAD e-filed: May 27th
FP: June 19th
First card production ordered email: June 28th
Second card production ordered email: July 29th
I took infopass appoinment for August 1st.

It is difficult for me to produce all "Proofs" at this point of time, perhaps if I dig my some of past CDs I may be able to bring some articles but it will be a hell of time. Anyway still trying to put some explanation. First of all you need to understand the difference between today's bulletin system and bulletin system prevalent around 1999-2003. I vaguely remember, mostly till 2002 mid only Mexico and Philipines and India were "oversubscribed" countries.INS played a very smart game with bulletins then as well but somehow there was no public cry like what we experienced during this july. I do not remember exactly but probably during almost whole 2003 and perhaps for some months during 2002 India was out from "Oversubscribed" category. Before that India was used to be "Current" almost all the time. Now during the time India compeltely disapperared from bulletins, we needed to solely depend upon the internal news about retrogression and most of the information I was used to get from immigration.com and murthy.com articles and many articles were talking about this EB2 and Eb3 retrogression.

I have seen that same tendency on ,when I asked about that, I was told that once your PD is current the RD plays the final role, if my RD is before someones with a 2004 PD then mine is done first. Now the service guy was the one telling me that. Question is how much can we believe them. Obviously we are getting mixed info here.
Lets just hope we all get it soon and this confusion they are causing with all the mixed messages is over soon!

I don't mean to be pessimistic regarding your application, but it seems that USCIS is processing old PDs 2003 and 2004 without looking at RD ( if it is within the published processing time or not). so if you have a PD of 2004 or older, don't worry about your RD and they will touch yours soon, assuming I-140 already approved. but if you have a PD newer than 2004, it might be a while before they get to those even if your RD is before 06/08/07 (published)
Also regarding the service request. I did a SR back in February to get an update of my case and they asked me to wait 45 days to hear something. I called again today ( 60 days later) and it seems that SR I did disapeared ( I even have a reference #). Customer Service rep said they can start a new SR but not sure if it is gonna do anything. they will get to the application when they can. and right now they are precessing 2003 and 2004.

like how to do this, any tools we need to do this,
I heard some friends saying using L2 charts, ( I am new to this and Plan to do trading from now as I think it is good to enter now or it is right time to get in .. )

Do not say that you want to see I-485 filling being applied to some bill.
I said the same thing and people came after me saying that I should stop asking about I-485 provision fate.
I never ever asked, I was just eager to see it as IV had mentioned.
I guess people have mis understood by words.
I beliebe that IV is pushing this provision. However, no sign of this provision indicates that there is no hope for any immigration reform in the near future.
Maybe it's really time for us to consider packing and going back home.

Since we now know that SA 187 had nothing to do with immigration and that it WAS indeed passed, the possible typo in this thread (about SA 187) title should be changed to something along the lines "Senate immigration amendment to H.R 2 NOT passed".
Besides we should whoheartedly explore with Kennedy, Kerry et al. if they game for pushing the immigration amendment (w/o the hard 10% country cap) in the house-senate conference.
If they are playing politics with the Sen Session illegal immigrant amendment (which passed!) we might as well use their tete-a-tete to our advantage ;)
BTW sen Sessions amendment also did not pass. It was just introduced, Th estatus of SA143(session's amendment) and SA180 is same.

This may not make sense in either direction. July filers are still waiting whereas my check to USCIS got encashed and it seems my ND wud be Oct 8th. My 485 reached TSC on 14th Aug but as per the Receipting Update TSC is still processing applications with RD of 13th Aug !!
There are lot of guys who filed in July still waiting for receipts..

I am opening a new thread to post all updates on the CIR. It seems today is a crucial day when the house comes in session and work on forming the committee might start. If people hear any updates you can post in this thread.
I read on immigration-law that conservative republications are trying to torpedo the CIR with a new technical legislative argument. It sure is going to be a difficult task to have this bill passed since house has republican majority and they are saying in the media that they will not have the bill passed.
"Report indicates that the House hardliners who opposed the Senate-passed S. 2611 have come up with a weapon to block the House-Senate Conference Committee and the S.2611. The weapon they have hammered out involves a constitutional issue as to whether the provision in S. 2611 that requires guest worker applicants to "pay the back taxes" as condition for the legal status constitutes a federal government's measure to raise the revenue. These hardliners argue that the U.S. Constitution mandates that any legislation to raise revenue for the government must originate in the House and S. 2611 violated the U.S. Constitution by originating such legislative bill in the Senate. When the Congress returns on Monday, there will be a see-saw fight between the S. 2611 proponents and opponents on this legal technicality issue. One wonders how the House hardliners would defend their prior violations in the past in another legislations that involved such legal technicality issues. Besides, there is no clear definition as to whether such back-tax payment requirement indeed constitutes a revenue raising measure. "
