I mailed my I-485 to NSC, CSC issued the receipts, and sent me a transfer notice (transferred to TSC). It is now pending at TSC. But the RD is the date NSC received my package.

I am sure a lot of volunteers shed a few pounds. beenwaiting shouldn't feel bad that you missed your gym on the last two days. See see another advantage of being at the rally... (unless ofcourse you loaded up on the reception desserts like me ;))

You can use that labor. Here is how you would proceed.
Comply with the advt requirements and whatever else is pending - in couple of months you will have your old labor approved - once old labor is approved , just follow the process normally as you would do.
Since both labors were filed in same category , you dont need to do PD porting or anything. Life is pretty simple for you ( wrt PD porting ).

Look my friend, there is no logic like RD vs PD. If there were I would have had my green card before most here even filed their 485s. My 485 is pending for over 4 yrs now.
I have had people with PDs after me, RDs after me, all sorts approved and I am waiting.
This is a game of luck and chance.
The USCIS process is chaotic and disorganised in the way they do things. If you are lucky you get your approval earlier, if you are not, your application languishes in some salt mine in Utah or wherever else NSC stores their pending applications.
I think I saw this in one of the ombudsman's reports to congress. A certain percentage of files are misplaced/lost every year. I have a sinking feeling - mine could be one of these. I opened the SR yesterday. I still have 40 or so days but the Rep said they take atleast 10 days to decide and if you want to open that should be fine.

I truly believe, though IV's efforts can impact a little bit, they have to join other organizations to strengthen the efforts and results.
As I said before, IV should step up for EB3-I/C/ROW cause since policies seem to be working in favor of other EBs (which is good) but EB3 is stuck..
Here are some paths to consider.
1. IV has established relationships with some key politicians through the advocacy days, may be that channel can work
or
2. Allow interfiling with spouse
or
3. Allow folks to file I-485 for an approved I-140 even if the dates are not current
or
4. Have an endless EAD and AP (by endless I mean 5 years)
or
5. Recapture (Tie it to a bill...eg Zoe Lofgren or Feigngold will not sign Finance reform bill unless lost EB visas are recaptured). It will help EB2 folks as well. Give Feingold a call, he is voting no on Finance reform. May be he can kick in something for legal EB folks (similar to cornhusker) and may vote Yes and be the 60th vote.
What I suggest you guys to do is build upon these ideas above rather than destroy it or be sarcastic about it.

Since people would be filing taxes early next year, and most expect some returns from Uncle Sam, how about starting a thread to pledge $ 200 from tax returns?
Also, someone had once suggested IV set up a mechanism via Pay Pal to make auto deduction of say $ 20-25 every month. That should get it more continuing contributions and help even out IV's cash flow.

Below is a very good article from the "Economic Policy Institute " that highlights the fact that 2 well known Indian firms have single handedly lapped up 65% of H1B visas last year and have applied for just 69 green cards . Thats a GC application rate of 0.0004%. i Cannot help agree with the facts in this article. I totally agree that firms like these which abuse the system ought to be severely punished and blacklisted, so that geniunine US companies can get their required workers , when they need them . If anybody is contravening the purpose of the H1B, it is all those companies hiring workers on H1B for permanent jobs by pretending that they are temporary workers and then filing for a green card for the worker.

Being a volunteer, I had a chance to meet most of the members of the core team and other selfless volunteers. I also met the staffs of three congressmen and attended the congressional reception as well. I'll cherish this memory forever, since not many will get this chance in their lifetime.
One of the memorable moment on a personal level is, I met two of my high school juniors after more than 15yrs. It was a great feeling.
