We are working really hard to get our amendments in. Please understand, we are not doing this for fun. We are into this just like you for our green cards. It would really help if we get support instead of having to answer the same questions over and over

But again, we are going full steam with this as it means as much to us as to you. And remember, we are a voluntary non-profit organization. actually I had already drafted a template in an earlier post, but IV deleted the entire thread. This was a template to send to reporters that outlined our issues.

Am I wrong or is there very little interest in this bill from IV - or for that matter other immigration groups?
I understand that its going to be hard to get ANY legislation passed over the next couple of quarters, but I think getting behind these inital ones will lead to a growing momentum. This momentum is what will eventually lead to any immigration changes..

What is your PD and EB category. This discussion won't go anywhere without that information. Raj3078/anybody,
Let's say, I am not able to do that. But, do you suspect that they might APPROVE my 485 BEFORE my PD gets current? If they don't then, I am in no trouble, isn't that right? If they don't approve, then, I can add her into AOS when my PD gets current again assuming I don't file for EAD (I won't - I like my employer for now).

If LOA can stop the old employer from revoking I-140, I would say, go for it. But just make sure you don't land into any other trouble (like non-competent etc. just an example, may not be relevant in your case, but you get the idea...).
Also, discuss with the new employer and make sure they are ok with supporting you in case of an RFE. From your response, looks like they might know what it is. What I can think of is, consult an attorney and discuss what kinda RFEs you can get that needs employer help (mostly EVL, ability to pay), prepare a sample response letter for both and check with the new employer they are ok with providing them if necessary.

Then there will always be people like Lou Dobbs who will say that "potential immigrants will get points only if they make 240K a year and are 25 years of age". The UK is also restricting people by increasing the point based system. Now people who make 35,000 GBP a year do not get any points in the HSMP.
the problem currently is that the system is full of lies. when you came here did you know that only 10,000 indians, by LAW, are allowed to get employment GCs per year? No. They gave you all that green grass story about how your math skills are needed here. how they don't like to study math here (and why not? all the books I studied math from were by American profs. ).
They don't want to study math because it doesn't pay. Lawyers, doctors and MBAs (bullshitters) make money here. someone has to do the work. that's where the illegal mexican and WE come in.
Let them make whatever rules they want. If the rules are bad people will stop coming here. But BEFORE a company makes an offer for an H1 employee, it should provide all the fineprint. How long the queues are, how many people get added per year, the expected time for GC processing, the fact that changing employers is almost impossible.

This is unprecedented - NSC was doing Eb3 140's slowly and now they stopped.
NSC EB2 140 is July 5th 2007 (my friend got approval yesterday by filing in Aug 2007)
Clear your cache and then reopen browser - you should be able to see MAY 15th update.

For instance EB-3, numbers re-captured didn't all go to EB-3. The amendment gave 61,000 to Schedule A and then re-distributed the rest equally.
A much fairer, simpler and permanent solution is to simply rollover the unused numbers to next years numbers.

I talked to USCIS information center at (202) 272-8269. They asked me to submit Form G-639 (it is available at www.uscis.gov --> under forms section). It has all the instructions to request the copies we needed.

I always loved this board for what it does - especially the Gurus who always spend their precious time giving input to member's queries. Well... this is not query. I just want to vent my frustration, helplessness to fellow friends in this board. In spite of graduating from a reputed univ with a Masters and very good GPA and also having 7 years of professional experience, I am bound to be a slave to my current Employer without any promotions, career growth or anything remote to that for next (God knows how many Decades) several years. ppl who are junior to me in every aspect are growing left and right and are also getting brighter opportunities. snathan, dig up the history of these winers and lets see what they have accomplished or contributed to this world. Being the first would indicate that person (according to your definition of power) would be extrememly powerful, right? Now ask them to pen an essay on any issue and lets compare that to another class topper who just exels in creative thinking. Or lets just give these two candidates a project to work on and lets see who comes up with better ideas or greater problem solving skills. I personally know a kid who did not make it to the final round but just fell short (this year) and honestly I can tell you that the only skill (yes, the only skill) she has is this one. She is not involved in music lessons, does not participate in science olympiad, advance math or anything of that sort. Now I have to admit that this is the only one candidate I know personally for this year. Let me be honest from the depth of my heart that there is no issue of jealousiness or envy here. This is just a frank opinion and as we have already seen, there are an equal number of people who dont think this is a competition that is to be given the importance it is being given.
