I am getting ready to file I-485. Is it mandatory to apply I-131(EAD) and I-765 (AP)? I got 3yr extension which is valid till 2009 and i am not planning to use EAD anytime soon.
What if i just apply for I-485 in the beginning and apply for EAD or AP whenever there's need? Please let me know.

You can apply EAD/AP whenever you want to, provided you have filed I485. It need not be exactly at the time the I485 is filed.

USCIS decided to take our $604 and give me an my wife APs in 9 days! They seem really efficient when they have to take money from us. But really slow when they have to approve GC applications (EB2, PD of Dec 2004). USCIS just seems to be interested in 'extortion' payments to employ USCIS staff - more a lawless mafia than a organization upholding the law!

We are in US for past 7 years in H1B. Since the priority dates are current now we are ready to file I485.
3 years back my wife's status went out of status for 7-8 months when my employer renewed the visa's they forgot to do H4 and we didn't noticed it.As soon as we found it our attorneys did the Amended H1 and got her H4 status back to current.Since then her status is current..will there be any issue because of that when we apply 1485,EAD for her.
Please let me know ...

I have send emails to my credit card company and the people who processed the payment and none of them have been able to help me.
You should just fill a dispute form and send it to your credit card issuer. It's probably not too late. The bank can and should refund you the overpay.

We received the snail mail welcome notice today after receiving the email ADIT stuff last Tuesday (August 10). That makes it five business days. On the notice it says that we should receive our permanent resident card within three weeks. Anybody who actually received it within three weeks?

Guys do not feed the freeloaders by telling anything you are reading in the donor forum. Let these people help themselves by signing up for recurring contributions if they want helpful nformation about their EB2 PD movemement. We are still not meeting of our advocacy day amount. It is all because most people want free lunches. This needs to stop. The 200 people going to DC tomorrow are going to speak for you and me for yours and mine greencard. I was unable to file for my son since he aged out over a year ago because of long delay in labor cert. However, I filed for my spouse and we both submitted G325A in accordance with instructions from my international services division at work.

This may not be a big change. These laws made more sense when they had less or no wait to get into the country for Perm residency and then wait long enough (5 Years) to understand how this country works, before getting a citizenship.
With the change in the cirumstances, it is not case anymore. Most of the people waiting for GC are much better of with the way things work in this country. So we are basically not challenging the law but the interpretation.
More over If CIR can promise a path to citizenship for illegals, I don't know why not this can be done for legals.
