Hello Friends,
Got a chance to speak to a customer service advocate at NSC. A very nice lady looked up my case and told me the case is with an officer. She also added I will be hearing something very soon. So keeping my fingers crossed. I always wondered if the cases made to an IO only when a visa number was assigned to the case or whether the case went to the IO first and then they looked to assign a numbers. Don't know - but will hopefully hear some good news soon. Good luck to all of you.

I will elaborate. EB2 was current untill September 30th 2005. So where does the 2003 "screeching blah blah" come into effect?
Besides ike I have posted countless times...there were only 2000+ approvals for Labor certifications for India between march2005 and october 2005
and only 7000 labor certifications for India between march 2005 and december 2005.
These include a number of labor certifications for other worker categories. I myself saw at least 500 pipefitters and welders and joiners whose labor certification had been approved from Louisiana (maybe cos of katrina)
so if the priority dates have to move for EB2 they will move to jan 2006 (like the chinese have) or remain at 2004
there are also a TON of filers who filed in first quarter of 2005, mainly to stay in the old system, as people were scated of the new one (PERM). maybe 300-400 of those are from where I work (they also incidentally started processing GCs again from Q4 2004 after layoffs in 2001-2003. So expect a bump before we get into PERM, but as you say after March 2005 things should be smooth till 2006 Jan

Our contacts in Washington have told us that there is a growing chance of a bill to recapture as many as 90,000 visas. The language of the draft bill that we've seen calls for a full recapture of the unused visas from 2000-04.

It was introduced by Kennedy to amend an unfriendly amendment from Jeff Sessions, but its only registered on Thomas. It has not passed and its not a part of the bill that passed the Senate today. It was not even debated.
This is what happened:
Kennedy submitted SA 180(about immigration) in response to amendment SA 143(text unavailable) introduced by Jeff Sessions. Its a parliamentary spat (tit for tat) and eventually both were left untouched. So it can be on thomas, but it has not passed.

Can I file for I-485 while I am waiting for I-140 approval. My PD is current under eb2 and my I-140 was filed on Jan-2007. I am going to upgrade to PP for I-140 but since lots of people will start going to file for PP, it is very much likely that NSC will issue RFE to reduce there workload. So my question is while I wait for I-140 approval, can I file I-485?

........... Net result, USCIS is going to be flooded with applicants enough to retrogress the priority dates 3-4 years back as early as september. (Everybody with a LC will be able to file for I485 in July). So applicants with priority dates of 2007 are going to get EAD and GC, while LC backlogged 2003 applicants to have to wait for another 3-4 years before they can even file I485.

This is typically what anti-immigrant and competitor websites do, they never donate or take part in advocacy activities - like PlainSpeak. examples of anti-immigrants are numbersUSA, FAIR and many others. your game is up, you can leave this website.
They pick up a thread that educates members about advocaccy and pretend to have an argument and completely divert the topic. If people have questions there are better ways to talk to management or core.
There were very valid posts about meeting lawmakers and requests for ideas for a better EB system, which were all supressed thanks to the negative campaign.
Admins please delete posts of PlainSpeak as his goal is to hamper advocacy efforts.
This is a grass-root effort and there is no nice way of getting rid of weeds.
Freeloader weeds are just filling up our Server disk space that we pay for, with their bullshit.

My friend if you have concerns about free loader weeds who are filling up the server disk space (which you pay for) which i feel is a genuine concern they why not make the following option listed below which you as a IV paid member can certainly get implemented via IV core
- Make IV website a paid website. Only thing a person can do for free is read the posts.
- To write a post the person has to be a paid member
- Make membership a recurring monthly payment like how you do for collecting advocacy donations currently
- Use this new membership money for whatever needs to be done for IV

- I am ready to pay membership to IV to air my views and concern which i feel is genuine
- I refuse on principle to pay donation for advocacy which i believe is not working towards aleivating the concerns on issues of the largest group stuck by retrogression which IV represents
- My goal is to NOT hamper advocacy but ensure that the advocacy works towards the benefit of the whole group not part of the group
- As a request Keep the post write membership group seperate from current Donor membership group and let them have seperate identities in public. That way people know the difference between the 2 groups.

I e-filed for EAD and AP on 06/01/08. My AP got approved yesterday but no activity on EAD. I'm using EAD and my current EAD expires on 09/27/08. I'm planning to take an Infopass appointment in the last week of Aug.
